It’s been a busy summer. Our design department has been buzzing. Our engineering team has been pushing the limits of Solidworks, and our millwork operation has had the coffee pot on and the music pumping. We thought we would take a quick breather and share 3 cool custom POP displays that we made in our shop this summer. Although they are all wood displays, they are completely different. Despite their different “personalities,” each of them was designed to stand out yet fit in at retail. Let’s take a look.
We designed the wood shelf floor display shown below for Cabo Chips. Our customer was looking for a wood display for the grocery channel since many grocery stores these days are shying away from metal displays. This 5-shelf solid wood display is nothing fancy, but it was highly functional and did a nice job of representing the brand. The white washed finish and digitally printed PVC header sign complemented each other well, and the display featured a knock-down design so it could ship in a relatively flat box. We also designed this unit to be able to accommodate side and shelf signs if desired.
The second unit we will discuss today is a hanging display we designed for grab-n-go Buddy Fruits pouches. This relatively short 4-sided display included 6 levels and was designed to hold 144 pouches. We constructed this out of 100% eco-friendly carbonized architectural-grade Pureboo® plywood and finished it with a clear coat to draw out its natural colors. We designed the fixture to be knock-down with a separate base on castors, a center bamboo post, 6 individual tiers which simply slipped over the center post, and a 2-sided PVC header sign to promote the Buddy Fruits brand. We also added a silk screened logo on 2 sides of the base. This display is extremely compact, efficient and knocks down very well for shipping.
Our last example is an alternative grab-n-go display. We created the wood dump bin shown below also for Buddy Fruits pouches. The display was constructed using solid pine with a dark cherry wash finish. The display included an inside white melamine MDF box with dividers to create 4 distinct sections. We added wheels to the base and included 4 interchangeable PVC signs along with a 2-sided header. The PVC signs were printed with the Buddy Fruits brand on one side and the Fruit Break brand on the other side so the same display could easily be converted to a display for either brand. We also silk screened the Buddy Fruits logo in white on the sides to create permanent branding. Check out this display at Kroger this fall and be sure to pick up a delicious Buddy Fruits pouch.
